FGI, in association with Heritage Trust, AIPRIS, Ark Foundation, FICCI Flo, SEE Foundation and Navrachna University, hosted a thought-provoking conversation on “Freebies or Rights? A Conversation on Welfare, Dignity & Democracy” on 3rd September 2026 at FGI. The session brought together diverse perspectives on welfare, social security, dignity and democratic participation. The discussion featured Prof. Amit Dholakia, Director, AIPRIS, The M.S. University of Baroda; Prof. Reetika Khera, Professor of Economics, IIT Delhi; and Danish Hussain, Actor, Storyteller, Poet & Theatre Director, who shared valuable insights on the evolving discourse around welfare and citizens’ rights.

Session on Taking The Right Turn – From ITR Filing to Intimation

The Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI) organised a session on “Taking the Right Turn – From ITR Filing to Intimation” on 26th August 2026 at FGI, Vadodara, providing participants with practical insights into key changes in ITR Forms and Tax Audit Reports for FY 2025–26, tax audit disclosures, pre-filing review points, defective notices and Section 143(1)(a) adjustments. The session commenced with a Welcome Address by Ms. Priyanka Verma, Deputy Secretary General, FGI.

Signing of MOU with Chungcheongnam-do Economic Promotion Agency (CEPA)

The Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Chungcheongnam-do Economic Promotion Agency (CEPA), Republic of Korea, on 25th August 2026, marking an important step towards strengthening business and economic cooperation between Gujarat and Korea. The CEPA delegation comprised Mr. Seungchang Ha, Chief Representative; Ms. Bandita Boro, Marketing Manager; and Mr. Shravan Kumar, Marketing Manager. FGI was represented by Mr. Sameer Khera, President; Mr. Pranav Doshi, Senior Vice President; and Ms. Priyanka Verma, Deputy Secretary General.

EXIM Conclave

The EXIM Conclave 2026, organised by Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) in collaboration with the Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI), Baroda Management Association (BMA) and Quality Council of India (QCI), was held on 22nd August 2026 at FGI Business Centre, Vadodara, on the theme “Vadodara to the World: Engineering Prosperity, Unlocking Global Trade Corridors.” The programme commenced with a Welcome Note by Mr. Sameer Khera, President, FGI, followed by the Keynote Address by Shri Arun Mahesh Babu, M.S., IAS, Municipal Commissioner, Vadodara, on “Positioning Gujarat as a Global Engineering Hub.”

One District One Product (ODOP) Exhibition

Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA), in collaboration with the Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI), Baroda Management Association (BMA) and Quality Council of India (QCI), organised the Two-Day One District One Product (ODOP) EXIM Expo 2026 on 21st–22nd August 2026 at FGI, Vadodara. The Expo was inaugurated by Ms. Priyanka Verma, Deputy Secretary General, FGI, and Ms. Ashani Thaker, Assistant PRO & Programme Coordinator, AMA. The Expo provided a platform to showcase the rich diversity and uniqueness of ODOP products while promoting exports and business opportunities for local entrepreneurs and enterprises.

Seminar on Impact of Tariff Order and Optimisation of Electricity Cost in Industries

The Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI) organised a Seminar on “Impact of Tariff Order and Optimisation of Electricity Cost in Industries” on 12th August 2026 at FGI, Vadodara. The programme commenced with opening remarks by Mr. Pranav Doshi, Senior Vice President, FGI. Mr. B. A. Gohil, Superintending Engineer, Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited (MGVCL), Vadodara O&M Circle, Vadodara, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The seminar featured insightful sessions by Mr. J. Partnering for Capacity Building in Sustainability Development

FGI organized a programme on “Partnering for Capacity Building in Sustainable Development” on 10th June 2026 at FGI, Vadodara. The programme commenced with opening remarks by Mr. Sameer Khera, President, FGI, followed by the introduction and launch of the Strategic Collaboration between FGI and AIPRIS in association with The M.S. University of Baroda. Prof. (Dr.) Bhalchandra Mahadeo Bhanage, Vice Chancellor, The M.S. University of Baroda, highlighted the significance of academia-industry collaboration in advancing sustainability initiatives.

Talk on Seen and Unseen Hands by Mr. Aniket Bhagwat

The Talk on Seen and Unseen Hands by Mr. Aniket Bhagwat explored the evolution of landscape patronage in Indian and Western traditions while highlighting the philosophy, processes, and challenges behind several of his landmark projects. The session offered valuable insights into the intersection of ecology, culture, public spaces, and design. A key highlight was the discussion on Vadodara’s public park initiative, which emphasized the role of thoughtfully designed landscapes in shaping urban life, collective memory, and community engagement. The programme concluded with an interactive discussion and Q&A session.

2nd Edition of Next-Gen Summer Internship Program

After the success of the Next-Gen Summer Internship Program, FGI organized the 2nd Edition of the program from 1st June 2026 to 15th June 2026. The program was designed to provide students with real-world learning opportunities and meaningful exposure to the industry ecosystem. Throughout the internship, participants benefited from mentorship by industry experts, skill-building sessions, hands-on practical experience, and insights into contemporary geopolitical developments impacting businesses.

The Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI) successfully organized a Seminar on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on 29th April 2026, which commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Priyanka Verma, Deputy Secretary General. The Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI), in association with the Quality Council of India, successfully organized the “Gunvatta Yatra – Awareness Program on NABL Accreditation and Its Benefits” on 22nd April 2026 at FGI, Vadodara. Facility Management Decoded

The seminar on “Facility Management Decoded” was successfully organized on 15th April 2026 at FGI by The Times of India in association with the Federation of Gujarat Industries. The session featured insightful deliberations by Chief Guest Mr. Sharad Gangal and Guest Speakers Mr. Vineet Bhatnagar and Mr. Yashal Shah, who emphasized the importance of facility management in driving operational efficiency, sustainability, and enhanced workplace experiences, along with sharing best practices and emerging trends. Discussion on Building A Center of Excellence in AI

The Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI) successfully organized an online session on “Discussion on Building a Center of Excellence in AI” on 14th April 2026. The Gujarat Green Summit 2, organized by Caravan Classroom in association with iNDEXTb and supported by FGI

Was successfully held on 27th March 2026 at Ahmedabad Management Association, Ahmedabad, bringing together eminent experts and thought leaders in sustainability. The event commenced with a welcome address by Rajeshwari Singh, Founder & Director – Caravan Classroom, followed by an insightful address by the Guest of Honour, Dr. A. P. Singh, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) & Head of Forest Force (HoFF), Gujarat. The session commenced with a Welcome Address by Ms. Priyanka Verma, Deputy Secretary General, FGI. The Guest Speaker, Mr. Mihir Ajit Shah, Advisor, Consultant & Trainer in International Business, Universal Connections LLP, delivered a highly informative session covering key aspects of international trade, including Annual Compliances & Updates, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), HSN Classification, and various export incentive schemes such as EPCG, Advance Authorisation, RoDTEP, and RoSCTL.

A Discussion on Key GST Concerns and Industry Challenges was successfully held on 21st March 2026 at FGI for the benefit of members. The session was led by Guest Speaker CA Abhay Desai, Founder of Desai Legal, Advocates & Solicitors, who provided valuable insights on critical GST issues including Input Tax Credit challenges such as vendor non-compliance, upstream discrepancies, and establishing transaction genuineness, along with the importance of reconciliations across GSTR-2B, IMS, E-way bills, ICEGATE, etc. He also elaborated on key aspects like levy of tax, interpretation of GST Rate Notifications vis-à-vis customs classification, exemptions, documentation, return filing, refunds, revenue audits, adjudication, and appellate remedies.

Live Viewing of Union Budget 2026-27

FGI hosted a Live Viewing of the Union Budget 2026-27, presented on 1st February 2026 by Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Finance Minister, bringing together FGI Managing Committee Members, industry representatives, and members of the press and media. The Budget outlined a growth-oriented and fiscally disciplined roadmap for India’s economy, targeting a fiscal deficit of 4.3% of GDP and a capital expenditure outlay of ₹12.2 lakh crore to strengthen infrastructure, logistics, and employment generation.

Session on Demystifying The Labour Code Conundrum

The Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI) successfully concluded the Session on Demystifying the Labour Code Conundrum held on 29th January 2026. FGI conducted a workshop on Communication Skills and Time Management on 19th January 2026 aimed at enhancing both personal and professional effectiveness. The Guest Speaker, Ms. Charmi Patel (Psychologist), shared valuable insights on the importance of clear communication, emotional awareness, and effective time utilization in daily life. She highlighted practical techniques to improve listening skills, manage stress, set priorities, and maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life.

The Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), Vadodara Chapter, organized SHAKTI 2.0 on 10th January 2026. The event commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Nitu Jain, Convener, followed by an introductory speech by Mr. Hiren Soni, Past President of the ISHRAE Foundation, outlining the event’s vision. The Chief Guest, Mr. Anupam Kumar, Joint DGFT, RA, Vadodara, shared valuable insights on the India–UK Comprehensive Economic & Trade Agreement (CETA), Zero Duty Tariff Rate on Electric Vehicles, and the role of DGFT as the implementation authority in export-import licensing and authorisation, along with updates on customs notifications for tariff implementation.

On May 9, 2024, FGI hosted U.S. Consul General Mr. Mike Hankey and Ms. Sangeeta Taneja for a discussion on boosting U.S.-India trade. On May 30, 2024, FGI hosted the second batch of the “Master Excel with ChatGPT” workshop, led by IT consultant Mr. Manoj Chakerwarti. Response to Petition for Tariff Proposals for 2024-25

FGI submitted responses to MGVCL, GETCO, and GSECL’s tariff petitions for FY 2024-25, aiming to protect Gujarat industries’ interests. Public hearings are scheduled for 4th March (GSECL, GETCO, SLDC, etc.) and 14th March (DGVCL, MGVCL, PGVCL, UGVCL).

Live Viewing of Interim Union Budget 2024-25

FGI hosted a live viewing of the Interim Union Budget 2024-25, attended by FGI members and media representatives. The budget focused on India’s development towards becoming a Viksit Bharat by 2047, with an emphasis on MSME growth through finance, technology, and training. FGI organized a full-day workshop on ESG practices, with 20 delegates from 13 companies participating.
