Welcome to Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI)

The Federation of Gujarat Industries was founded in the year 1918, in the erstwhile Baroda State, Under progressive rule of Shrimant Sayajirao Gaekwad, who encouraged social reforms and industrial development to Modernize Baroda. Comprising multiple independent industrial associations, like-minded groups, and industrial members, FGI was founded in the erstwhile Baroda State to promote, protect, and project the interests of industries while addressing the broader needs of the community.

FGI boasts a rich tradition of industrial development, proactively working to benefit Gujarat’s business and industry sectors. By keeping pace with modernization and reforms, we have consistently driven progress and prosperity across the state’s economy.

Recognized as a leading industrial federation in Gujarat, our archives are filled with milestones marking the vast industrial growth in and around Vadodara, located on the golden corridor of Gujarat. Beyond our economic contributions, FGI has played a significant social role, establishing institutions such as the Baroda Management Association, Baroda Productivity Council, Co-operative Bank of Baroda Ltd., Federation Samaj Kalyan Trust, and Baroda Citizens Council.

FGI has also been instrumental in setting up the Forum of Federations, Chambers, and Associations of Industries of Gujarat to collaboratively address and resolve common industry issues. Our history reflects the early age of industrialization, the golden era of the Gaekwad regime, the challenges of the world wars, the freedom struggle, and the evolution of modern industries in the age of globalization. The liberalization era saw us engaging regularly with global players, further expanding our influence and impact.

From our humble beginnings in Gendigate, Vadodara, to our current state-of-the-art FGI Business Centre in Sevasi, Vadodara, we have continually upgraded our facilities to support the business and industrial community of Gujarat. Our centre includes an auditorium, an exhibition-cum-convention centre, a board room, and lush lawns, all designed to foster growth and collaboration.

FGI has instituted eighteen awards to recognize excellence in industrial, economic, and social spheres, encouraging superior performance among industries, individuals, and institutions. Our online Certificate of Origin (COO) service is a boon for the export community, reflecting our commitment to innovation and support for businesses. As an ISO 9001:2008 certified organization, we uphold the highest standards of quality and service.
