National Conclave on Supply Chain Management: Industry Experts Address Key Challenges and Innovations

Federation of Gujarat Industries organised National Conclave on “Supply Chain Management: Issues and Challenges” gathered leading industry experts to explore critical concerns and innovative solutions shaping the future of logistics in India. The event featured insightful speeches from top professionals, focusing on sustainable practices, technological advancements, and the global challenges affecting the supply chain landscape.
Mr. Sanjay Swaroop, joined as a Chief Guest from CONCOR, discussed the company’s leadership in intermodal logistics and its efforts to promote paperless documentation to streamline E-WASTE management and clearance processes, significantly enhancing the efficiency of imports and exports. He also emphasized rail transport as an environmentally sustainable alternative to road logistics, aligning with the company’s commitment to greener operations.
Mr. Shobhit Bhatnagar, Director of Operations & Business Development at DFCCIL, Indian Railways, highlighted the ongoing Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) project, which spans 2,843 kilometers across seven states. His presentation, titled “Navigating the Freight Landscape: Charting the Future of Corridor,” addressed the critical role of DFCs in reducing congestion on the Golden Quadrilateral and improving freight efficiency across India.
Mr. Savio Almeida provided a global perspective on container shipping, touching on the impact of geopolitical events such as the Russia-Ukraine War, challenges at the Panama Canal, and disruptions in the Red Sea. He stressed the need to tackle these disruptions, which are contributing to port congestion and affecting global trade flows, as India’s total exports surged to $453.5 billion in 2022.
Mr. Dipak Dalwadi, Senior Vice President of ELECON Engineering Company, focused on “Supply Chain Issues and Challenges in Engineering Industries”. He outlined the key trends in 2024, stressing the need for adaptability and innovation to address disruptions in the global supply chain. He also showcased ELECON Engineering’s success in overcoming these challenges through strategic supply chain management, leading to significant business growth post-pandemic.
