Date: February 1,  2025

The Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI) extends its heartfelt commendations to the Government of India on the presentation of the 2025-26 Union Budget. The budget, unveiled by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman centered on enhancing economic growth, improving public welfare, and driving innovation across various sectors.
The recent budget proposals focus on providing significant financial relief and fostering economic growth across various sectors. The SWAMIH Fund offers relief to middle-class families burdened by EMIs, while the hike in FDI insurance to 100% is set to attract foreign investments and strengthen India's insurance sector. A strategic boost to tourism is expected to enhance the economy and create jobs, while 10,000 new seats in education and health will increase access to quality services. A ₹5.7 crore fund for MSMEs aims to promote growth and access to credit. Initiatives like the Centre of Excellence for Skilling will improve workforce employability, and a substantial ₹10.18 lakh crore allocation for capital expenditure will fuel infrastructure development. Tax exemptions for incomes up to ₹12 lakh, and investments in IIT infrastructure will keep India’s top institutions globally competitive. Additionally, rationalizing tax compliance measures will simplify the process for businesses and individuals, fostering a more business-friendly environment.
FGI looks forward to working collaboratively with the government and industry stakeholders to achieve the ambitious goals set forth in this budget.
